Position Description

A highly respected leader in precision metal fabrication is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to drive operational excellence at the heart of its advanced production facility. This role is a critical leadership position responsible for managing the full scope of manufacturing activities—from planning and workflow optimization to people development and performance management.

With a reputation for delivering innovative, high-quality fabrication and custom metal solutions across a diverse range of industries, this company seeks a proactive and hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering best-in-class results.

The role is an on-site, Monday to Friday, days-based position (8am – 4pm).

  • Oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets
  • Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and skilled tradespeople across fabrication, welding, and assembly functions
  • Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices to streamline workflows and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and project management teams to ensure successful execution of custom and complex builds
  • Monitor capacity planning, production scheduling, and resource allocation to align with customer requirements and timelines
  • Uphold and enforce rigorous safety protocols and workplace standards
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives within the operations group

Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a custom fabrication, metalworking, or industrial manufacturing setting
  • At least 3 years in a production leadership or plant management role
  • Direct experience managing teams in a make-to-order or project-based environment
  • Background working with sheet metal, steel fabrication, welding processes, and assembly
  • Proven ability to drive performance improvements in quality, delivery, and efficiency metrics

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities within a production environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing, workflow optimization, and safety best practices
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings/documents
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Certification or training in lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement methodologies (preferred)

Education

Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
