We are looking for a talented On-site Manufacturing Engineer-Hybrid to join our team specializing in Electrolyzer-Operation at our Accelera by Cummins Site in Mississauga, ON.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
- Improve manufacturing equipment and processes using your knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools to enhance work efficiency and quality.
- Follow Cummins standards and lead the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
- Communicate effectively with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
- Collaborate with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
- Apply advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices to Cummins’ processes.
- Maintain relationships and coach key stakeholders to foster a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Building partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives.
- Developing and delivering multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences.
- Championing proactive health and safety behaviors.
- Interpreting engineering drawings to develop manufacturing processes.
- Select manufacturing equipment meeting specifications and project needs.
- Using digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes for data-driven decision-making.
- Implementing process, equipment, and application changes for continuous improvement.
- Producing written manufacturing procedures for standardization.
Qualifications:
- Degree in STEM or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of industrial safety regulations, especially safeguarding machinery.
- Supervisory experience leading and mentoring manufacturing engineers.
- Experience working with KPI-driven process improvements in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Experience with PFDs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Knowledge of component manufacturing processes such as injection molding, metal forming, CNC machining.
- Experience integrating automation technologies.
- High CAD proficiency, preferably in Solidworks, NX, or Creo.
- Understanding of GD&T standards.
- Ability to lead problem-solving activities using root cause analysis tools.
