Job Purpose

The Engineering II (Manufacturing) role involves preparing work instructions, operation sheets, designing jigs and fixtures, supporting production, and leading continual improvement initiatives. The position also manages small to medium contracts.

Accountabilities
  1. Develop detailed work instructions, CAD drawings, Inspection Test Procedures (ITPs), and Manufacturing Control Sheets (MCS) for complex precision components.
  2. Coordinate with Machinists, Programmers, and Quality Control Engineers to validate manufacturing processes before production.
  3. Lead Pre-Production Part Qualification samples and manage the team through the launch process.
  4. Drive process improvements through Time Studies, Lean 5S, and waste reduction initiatives.
  5. Manage all Process and Engineering Change requests.
  6. Design jigs, fixtures, and test rigs.
  7. Dispost non-conformances and create rework instructions.
  8. Prepare capital expenditure proposals for new equipment and processes.
Knowledge & Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Nuclear Engineering.
  2. 5+ years in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  3. 2+ years in the nuclear industry (asset).
  4. Knowledge of ASME, ISO 9001, CSA N285.0, Z299 quality standards (asset).
  5. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  6. Experience with manufacturing of precision-machined components, including heat treatment, plating, and testing.
  7. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The salary range in Ontario is expected to be between $63,000 and $98,000 annually, based on experience and market factors. The total package may include incentives and benefits.
