Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve manufacturing and repair processes in our repair factory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in problem solving, project management, process optimization, and continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity. This role involves collaborating across teams, management, union, and external vendors. The position reports directly to the factory manager.

How you’ll make an impact
  1. Analyze current conditions versus desired outcomes, lead improvement projects from justification through to implementation and handover to operations.
  2. Perform value stream mapping; develop and implement procedures and processes to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
  3. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  4. Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation opportunities.
  5. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  6. Monitor and focus on the improvement of key performance indicators.
Your background
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  2. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong skills with Microsoft Suite.
  4. Proficiency in CAD.
  5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  8. Union experience is an asset.
  9. Experience with construction projects is an asset.
