Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Strong CAD skills
• Strong documentation and presentation skills
• Trained in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, including but not limited to 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Set up Reduction, or Six Sigma
• Must have 3 – 5 years manufacturing experience
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Product design experience is an asset
• Window and door manufacturing experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Create and assist in the implementation of design and process changes that improve quality, reduce cost, and/or improve performance.
• Maintain documentation & audits for structural and thermal testing
• Participate in Lean initiatives
• Introduce new manufacturing and assembly processes to production
• Analyze existing production methods and implement quick set-ups
• Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives
• Specify, procure, and install new equipment
• Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve problems
• Design fixtures, jigs, and tools for manufacturing
• Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing and design problems
• Perform time studies
• Analyze special product requests for production and purchased part requirements
