Position: Manufacturing Engineer – Strong SolidWorks Modelling Experience Required!

Job Type: Permanent

We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer with strong SolidWorks modelling experience for a manufacturing client located in Mississauga. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and leading production engineering projects, including continuous improvement, quality initiatives, troubleshooting, technology recommendations, and equipment and process implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, lead, and manage projects involving new equipment design, installation, movement, retrofitting, and/or modification.
  2. Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues and implement solutions.
  3. Develop, maintain, and improve operating policies, instructions, and standards.
  4. Perform engineering studies to improve efficiencies and develop lean and automation solutions.
  5. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes and procedures.
  6. Analyze workflows, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  7. Participate in cost and inventory reduction activities.
  8. Address systemic quality issues arising from manufacturing processes.
  9. Reduce non-value-added time in manufacturing.
  10. Assist in designing and developing new products with a focus on manufacturability.
  11. Collaborate with maintenance to identify preventative and predictive practices.
  12. Troubleshoot machinery using electrical, mechanical, and control systems knowledge.
  13. Design and procure in-house solutions and equipment.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer in continuous manufacturing and assembly.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with manufacturing/production issues.
  • Experience with assembly automation is an asset.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks modelling is required.
  • Experience in designing and implementing automation, capital projects, and equipment.
  • Creative, professional team player with multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong mechanical and controls aptitude, quick learner, and creative with machine mechanics.
  • Exposure to PLC/HMI/SCADA is an asset.
  • Enjoys working on the production floor with operators and maintenance teams.
