Job summary

Elby Professional Recruitment is seeking an experienced Controller for a reputable manufacturing client in Waterloo, ON. This hybrid role supports growth with hands-on accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements, reporting to the senior finance leader and guiding the accounting team.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPA designation (completed or in progress), and 4+ years of progressive experience, with strong Excel and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA designation completed or in progress.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement prep.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and month-end reporting packages.
• Support and coordinate month-end and year-end close processes.
• Provide guidance and leadership to members of the accounting team.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls and financial procedures.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor financial trends, identify risks, and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements.
