Job summary

TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst / Jr Controller for a custom manufacturing company in Vaughan, Ontario. The role reports to the CFO and manages accounting for two Canadian plants, ensuring accurate GAAP/IFRS reporting and strong controls.

The ideal candidate will have CPA status or near completion, 5+ years’ experience in full-cycle accounting, and hands-on expertise with consolidation, cost accounting, and cash flow management. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or in CPA completion (late stage) is required.
• 5+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting and reporting experience.
• Experience with multi-entity consolidation and IFRS reporting.
• ERP experience with SAP, QuickBooks or JobBoss.
• Travel 1–2 times per month between Vaughan and Montreal.
• Bilingual French is a strong asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns day-to-day accounting for both Canadian entities within a lean team.
• General ledger, reconciliations, month-end/year-end close, and financial statements under ASPE and IFRS.
• Manufacturing & cost accounting: standard costing, inventory valuation, WIP, margin and variance analysis.
• AP, AR, payroll accounting, and intercompany reconciliations across both sites.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow support for the CFO.
• Compliance: GST/HST, QST, payroll remittances, corporate tax filings.
• Supervises accounting staff at both locations; partners with operations, purchasing, quality, and HR.

Our client custom manufactures niche products within the aerospace Industry. They are a decades old company (HQ in Europe) that is poised for growth and looking to hire an Accounting Manager for their small team in Vaughan, Ontario.

About The Role

Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for maintaining financial accounting information for 2 Canadian plants strengthening the quality, consistency, and timeliness of financial reporting. The successful candidate should be strong in management accounting, reporting, cash and treasury management.

Responsibilities Include

• Owns day-to-day accounting for both Canadian entities within a lean, hands-on finance team.
• General ledger, reconciliations, month-end/year-end close, and financial statements under ASPE and IFRS.
• Manufacturing & cost accounting: standard costing, inventory valuation, WIP, margin and variance analysis.
• AP, AR, payroll accounting, and intercompany reconciliations across both sites.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow support for the CFO.
• Compliance: GST/HST, QST, payroll remittances, corporate tax filings.
• Supervises accounting staff at both locations; partners closely with operations, purchasing, quality, and HR

Qualifications

• CPA designation or in late stages of CPA completion.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in full cycle accounting, financial reporting or controllership duties, ideally in a custom manufacturing environment
• Experience with multi-entity consolidation and reporting (IFRS)
• Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Previous ERP experience working with SAP, Quickbooks or JobBoss is preferred
• Ability to travel 1-2 times per month between manufacturing facilities (Vaughan – Montreal).
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills - Bilingual French is a strong asset.
• You have strong interpersonal skills, are mature, professional, reliable and looking for long term stability.
