The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. With a dedicated staff of more than 5,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators, and support staff, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 38,000 patients each year. The organization conducts ground-breaking research, provides expert training to healthcare professionals and scientists, develops innovative health promotion and prevention strategies, and advocates on public policy issues at all levels of government.

CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds in support of CAMH. Its role is to help transform the way we understand and address mental illness by raising awareness and increasing engagement across the country. The Operations team (segment: Business Intelligence) is accountable for information management of our donor constituent database and supporting the CAMH Foundation to drive data-led decision-making through data analytics, data mining, data visualization, data tools, and infrastructure. In addition to our data mandate, we also lead and support project management across the Foundation. We help teams deliver strategic initiatives by providing consistent practices, tools, and guidance that bring clarity, alignment, and momentum to their work. This includes building organizational capacity for project planning, execution, and evaluation — ensuring that initiatives are delivered efficiently and in line with Foundation priorities. THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Manager, Projects will play a key role in leading and overseeing the successful delivery of strategic initiatives across the organization. This position is responsible for managing individual projects from initiation through execution, while also providing oversight of the broader project portfolio to ensure alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and resource capacity.

Reporting to Director, Business Intelligence, the Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. This role requires a strong mix of project management expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive consistency and best practices across all projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of organizational projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, timelines, and budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both internal and external (such as third parties/vendors), to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Oversee the work of assigned Project Coordinators to ensure consistent project tracking, documentation, and reporting
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including charters, project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations such as lessons learned sessions and close-out reports.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, proactively resolving roadblocks to maintain progress.
  • Oversee the organizational project portfolio, providing visibility into project status, risks, interdependencies, resource demands and organizational capacity
  • Support leadership in project prioritization and resource allocation through clear portfolio reporting and planning tools
  • Monitor and report on overall project health, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support strategic planning and prioritization by advising leadership on project feasibility, resource capacity, and timelines.
  • Provide project and portfolio updates in accessible formats tailored to different audiences.
  • Provide direct supervision and support to Project Coordinators, including coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Assign and monitor project tasks to ensure balance, efficiency, and skill development within the team.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture that emphasizes accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Facilitate effective communication with internal stakeholders, including project teams, department leads, and executive leadership. Manage stakeholders and work with project sponsors to keep projects moving.
  • Build compelling presentations and communications to engage buy-in and alignment across business units and stakeholders.
  • Establish and promote standardized project management practices and tools across the organization.
  • Lead or support change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new initiatives and processes.
  • Post-secondary education in project management, business administration, operations, or a related field.
  • A Project Management certificate or working towards a PMP designation is an asset.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience managing projects and/or project portfolios in a cross-functional or multi-stakeholder environment. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with organizational change management methodologies such as Kotter and Prosci ADKAR.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring staff, with a focus on coaching, performance development, and team engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and experience applying them effectively based on project needs.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, from planning through to execution, while managing scope, timelines, and risks.
  • Experience overseeing a project portfolio, including prioritization, resource planning, and strategic alignment.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Asana etc) and familiarity with collaborative platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, MS Teams, SharePoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess risks, synthesize complex information, and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with well-developed written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to tailor communications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration, build trust across teams, and support change management initiatives.

Salary Range: $92,881 to $107,087 annually
