Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Operations and Architecture Manager will oversee daily IT operations and establish operational processes to meet business needs. The incumbent will define, design, implement, and deliver IT architecture project solutions and internal initiatives aligning with the organization’s strategic goals. They will organize, monitor, and guide their team’s activities to meet deadlines within budget, ensuring client satisfaction.
The key responsibilities include:
- Operations:
- Managing daily IT operations, including Helpdesk support;
- Assigning activities and deadlines, overseeing work, and setting performance standards;
- Managing deployment and maintenance of hardware and network updates;
- Planning, coordinating, and delivering initiatives on time;
- Ensuring internal processes, governance, and accountability mechanisms are followed;
- Participating in the annual IT budget process;
- Managing supplier relationships regarding outsourcing and service contracts;
- Providing high-quality services for workstations, software, network, wireless, and telephony;
- Coordinating technological initiatives and change management;
- Developing user-service procedures and training;
- Monitoring team performance and providing coaching to foster a positive work environment.
Architecture:- Establishing and managing the organization’s IT architecture (systems, solutions, telecommunications);
- Providing a company-wide data architecture model promoting interoperability and efficiency;
- Optimizing tools and integration strategies for project delivery;
- Planning, designing, and implementing IT resources for projects;
- Revising architecture standards and best practices to align with organizational needs;
- Identifying innovative initiatives, including new procedures, business models, and cloud services.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field;
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 in management;
- Proficiency with MS Windows, MS SQL, SAN, Brocade and Cisco switches, MS Exchange, Fortinet firewalls;
- Knowledge of AS-400 (iSeries) is an asset;
- ITIL certification or experience is an asset;
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills;
- Ability to provide after-hours support as needed;
- Knowledge of physical infrastructure and communication networks.
