Job summary

Technology Company in Canada seeks a Manager of Finance, Controllership & Projects to lead end-to-end finance process design, the financial close, and governance. You will analyze and present financial information to enable strategic decisions and work with cross-functional teams on new transactions and automation initiatives.

The role emphasizes transformation through process optimization, AI-enabled solutions, and strong collaboration with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or related field.
• CPA designation or equivalent finance experience is asset.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in similar accounting role.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with automation, AI, machine learning, or data analytics tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and implementation of finance processes for transitory activities with external parties.
• Lead and support the financial close process, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial results while maintaining strong controls.
• Analyze and present financial information to drive value-add decision-making.
• Provide guidance on new transactions, projects, processes and accounting standards while maintaining governance and controls.
• Review, analyze and summarize accounting for contracts, policies and complex transactions.
• Drive transformation of financial close activities through process optimization, centralization, automation, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, data quality, and reporting capabilities, partnering with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Lead and support strategic projects and organizational transformation initiatives.

About the Opportunity

• Lead special project for the end-to-end design, documentation and implementation of finance processes required to deliver transitory finance activities with external parties
• Lead and support the financial close process, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial results while maintaining a strong control environment and reporting requirements
• Analyze and present financial information to drive value-add decision-making
• Provide guidance on new transactions, projects, processes and accounting standards while maintaining strong governance and controls
• Review, analyze and summarize accounting for contracts, policies and complex transactions
• Drive transformation of financial close activities through process optimization, centralization, automation, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.

About You

• Practical experience in project management, process design, and transitory service delivery is an asset.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with automation, AI, machine learning, or data analytics tools is an asset.
• Proficiency in process mapping, workflow design, and interaction models
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional deliverables
• Support a culture of innovation - a personal interest in upskilling in latest digital and technology trends
• Passion to understand operational business and its linkages to financial processes
• Highly organized, with the ability to independently plan and execute multiple priorities and demonstrate confidence and composure in times of uncertainty and stress.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $110,000 / year

• The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.

You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
