Job description

OVERVIEW:

Mindshare is seeking a Manager, Media Planning who is passionate about marketing and curious about media in advertising. This role is within the planning department and plays a key role in capturing a client’s vision to reach their target audience. The Manager, Media Planning, oversees strategic brand work including communication plans, media strategies, and media plans. You will manage daily account activities and translate marketing and advertising objectives into comprehensive media strategies. Partnering with client marketing teams, you will lead deployment, optimize strategies based on business dynamics, and develop the skills of junior staff.

YOUR IMPACT:
  • Manage overall client activities
  • Develop, execute, and present media plans from conception to completion
  • Delegate tasks to support media plan development and explore synergies and new media opportunities
  • Manage client relationships and train team members in media planning functions
  • Ensure media plans meet client objectives, are strategic, and cost-efficient
  • Collaborate with departments and media buyers within Mindshare and GroupM
  • Develop and maintain strategic media plans and present recommendations to clients
  • Maintain client contact, handle requests, and provide market information
  • Build strong relationships with media vendors for planning and execution
  • Work with senior leads to develop budget allocations and media mix scenarios
  • Direct implementation groups and maintain records of plan execution
  • Supervise and develop staff, demonstrating a strong work ethic and attention to detail
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business administration, communications, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital planning and advertising
  • Proven experience in client presentation and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian media landscape
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with syndicated research tools (ComScore, Nielsen, Vividata)
