Job DescriptionJob Description

The Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance department and is responsible for all machinery and equipment repairs within a corrugated manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and safely to minimize downtime, improve production performance, and achieve operational goals. The Maintenance Manager leads a team of maintenance journeymen, develops preventive maintenance plans, and works closely with production teams to address equipment issues proactively.

Essential Job functions/ Duties:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance and repair activities for all corrugated manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal production disruption.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to increase equipment longevity and reliability.
  • Respond to and resolve equipment breakdowns promptly, diagnosing issues and ensuring timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Manage, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians. Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and manage equipment upgrades and modifications to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department’s budget, monitoring expenses and finding ways to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
  • Work closely with General Manager to manage the P & L through established KPI’s and department specific budget, capital project performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including equipment history, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and increased equipment reliability.
  • Manage Purchasing department
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certifications/Licenses, and Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisory or Managerial experience in the Corrugated Industry.
  • Corrugated Industry .
  • High School Diploma minimum
  • Trade and Technical School .
  • Strong Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in leading and developing maintenance teams.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external vendors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety practices and OSHA regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with E-Maintenance system
