Job summary

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (PMCF) seeks a Manager, Leadership Giving to drive annual donor revenue and cultivate a portfolio of supporters giving between $1,000 and $5,000 annually.

You will lead personalized engagement, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and develop strategic plans to secure leadership gifts while advancing donors’ long-term philanthropy in support of world-leading cancer research and care.

Qualifications

  • University, college, certification or equivalent working experience in Business, Communications and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including donor relationship management and personal solicitation.
  • Past success in building and maintaining relationships to achieve objectives, including stewarding donors and securing mid-level or major gifts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to a varied audience including donors, prospects and colleagues.
  • Proven strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Strong results orientation with a history of proven success.
  • Strategic analytical ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external individuals and teams.
  • Proven experience liaising with various Foundation and Cancer Centre stakeholders to steward funds and coordinate efforts.
  • Ability to develop and build rapport with donors and colleagues.
  • Effective project manager with ability to manage multiple priority projects over varying timelines.
  • Experience with CRM/databases, preferably Blackbaud CRM.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a sustainable revenue stream and community of Leadership donors.
  • Drive revenue targets and growth for the Leadership Giving program.
  • Cultivate, solicit, steward and report on donor activity; collaborate with LG direct response program.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Giving team and with Major, Estate and Campaign teams.
  • Represent the Foundation in internal and external communities; participate in events with donors and prospects.
  • Perform cross-functional duties and take on special projects related to Leadership or the Foundation as needed.

The Manager, Leadership Giving, reporting to the Associate Vice President Marketing, is responsible for helping to achieve the annual fundraising goals of the Leadership Giving program. The role leads the cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, retention and growth of leadership annual donors, serving as a relationship manager for supporters who contribute between $1,000 and $5,000 annually. The Manager provides strategic input into program development and delivers personalized donor engagement to personally secure leadership level gifts and inspires long term commitment to The Princess Margaret.

Leadership Giving is a growing and strategic area of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team and play a key role in expanding a community of passionate donors who are driving impact at The Princess Margaret. The successful candidate will help shape the future growth of the program, build meaningful donor relationships, and contribute directly to advancing world-leading cancer research and care.

You will:

1. Play an important role in building a sustainable revenue stream and a committed community of Leadership donors, including:

  • helping achieve ambitious program revenue targets and drive the continued growth of the Leadership Giving program
  • effective cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and reporting of personal solicitation donor activity
  • collaboration with and appropriate integration of LG direct response program with personal solicitation activity

2. Play a key role in achieving Leadership personal solicitation annual revenue goals, specifically:

  • Serving as a relationship manager for an assigned portfolio of supporters who contribute between $1,000 and $5,000 annually
  • build long term relationships through personal interaction with donors on assigned portfolio with a strong emphasis on voice-to-voice interaction strategically used to discover, cultivate, invite and steward donors as partners
  • implement account and moves management strategies to ensure donors are cultivated toward their full giving potential
  • develop and execute strategic annual engagement plans for donors under management, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and advance donors toward their full philanthropic potential
  • monitor, analyze and report on portfolio performance to achieve established activity, engagement and revenue targets
  • work collaboratively with other members of Leadership Giving team
  • collaborate with Major, Estate and Campaign teams

3. Play an important role in Leadership Giving donor data management:

  • responsible for data management needs for LG personal solicitation business and appropriate integration with direct response business

4. Represent the Foundation in the internal and external community:

  • liaise with appropriate individuals across the Foundation and Cancer Centre as needed
  • participate in events and activities with donors and prospects

5. Perform cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required:

  • take on special projects related to Leadership or more broadly for the Foundation as requested
