Reports to: Associate Vice President, Major Gifts

Hours: 35 hours per week

Union Status: Non-Union

Salary: CA$58,000.00 – CA$65,000.00 per year (actual pay based on skills and experience)

Job Description

We are seeking a self‑starter Development Associate to support our Major & Transformational Gifts team. The role involves working closely with senior major gift fundraisers to manage activities focused on $100,000 to $1 million+ level prospects and drive philanthropic support for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Key Accountabilities
  • Organize complex donor meetings.
  • Coordinate complex communications materials with Strategic Insights and Marketing teams (proposals, impact reports).
  • Collaborate with physicians and Cancer Centre staff to prepare proposals and impact reports.
  • Manage calendars and scheduling for fundraising leads.
  • Draft meeting agendas, briefing notes, letters and other correspondence to major gift donors.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the Cancer Centre and associated priorities.
  • Assist in preparing Donation Agreements.
  • Support prospect management using PMCF’s Blackbaud CRM.
  • Help fundraisers develop and manage their fundraising pipeline.
  • Respond to internal and external information requests.
  • Provide support for donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship functions.
Qualifications
  • A 3‑year degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in fundraising or complex administrative coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet tools.
  • Experience with Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising CRM.
  • Understanding of fundraising professional standards and ethics.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, planning, and organization.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with ability to manage multiple assignments and timelines.
  • Self‑motivated and comfortable collaborating within a goal‑oriented team environment.
  • Professional mature presence, sound judgement, intuition, tact, and diplomacy.
