Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Manager, Insurance Products to own Portable Benefits, Individual Health & Dental, and related offerings. You will develop product strategies, roadmaps, and value propositions while coordinating with sales, marketing, and product teams.

You will lead enhancements from idea to implementation, monitor market and regulatory changes, and analyze performance data to seize opportunities. A strong background in health/benefits products in Canada is required.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in product management or related field.
  • Strong understanding of health, benefits or insurance products in Canada.
  • Ability to develop product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical skills with insights to inform opportunities.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear value propositions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.

  • Serve as product owner for Portable Benefits, IHD and optional products.
  • Develop strategies and roadmaps to improve client value and experience.

  • Analyze product performance and client feedback to identify opportunities.
  • Partner with Workplace Benefits Health Products for alignment.
  • Collaborate with Pricing to evaluate changes and enhancements.
  • Ensure advisors and internal teams have required product knowledge and support.

Client Advisory Services (CAS) is Canada Life's advice and sales organization focused on building individual relationships with plan members and clients.

Our Benefits & Insurance team helps bring that ambition to life by providing advice, guidance, and support across insurance and benefits solutions, helping Canadians navigate important health, coverage, and financial decisions. The team supports plan members and clients with optional and portable benefits, life conversions, and digital-direct insurance journeys. Through expert advice, advisor enablement and a focus on the client experience, we help Canadians make informed decisions while creating opportunities to strengthen long-term relationships with Canada Life.

Reporting to the AVP, Benefits & Insurance, the Manager, Insurance Products is responsible for the ownership, positioning, support, and ongoing evolution of Canada Life's Portable Benefits and Individual Health & Dental product offerings. This role acts as a key partner to sales, marketing, distribution, and product teams, helping ensure our products remain competitive, relevant, and easy for advisors and clients to understand.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as the product owner and subject matter expert for Canada Life's Portable Benefits, Individual Health & Dental and optional products.
  • Develop product strategies and maintain roadmaps that improve client value, competitiveness, and experience
  • Define product positioning and supporting value propositions
  • Lead product enhancements from idea through implementation in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Monitor market, regulatory and competitor developments to identify opportunities and risks
  • Analyze product performance and client feedback to identify opportunities
  • Partner with Workplace Benefits Health Products to ensure alignment across product strategy, enhancements, and member experience
  • Partner with Pricing and Performance Management to evaluate and implement product changes and enhancements
  • Ensure advisors and internal teams have the product knowledge, training and support required for success
What You Will Bring
  • 7+ years in product management, product marketing, insurance and benefits distribution, consulting or a related role
  • Strong understanding of health, benefits or insurance products in the Canadian marketplace
  • Ability to develop product strategies, manage roadmaps, and support product enhancements
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using customer, advisor, and business insights to identify opportunities
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear advisor and client value propositions
  • Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority
  • Experience in Individual Health & Dental, Group Benefits, or insurance products is considered an asset

The base salary for this position is between $102,000 - $152,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
