Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement the health and safety strategy to ensure a safe workplace, meeting regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
2. Provide advice to senior leaders on emerging trends, legislative changes, and future health and safety initiatives.
3. Lead training sessions for management, supervisors, and Joint Health and Safety Committee members.
4. Coordinate all health and safety training across the organization.
5. Mentor and support joint occupational health and safety committees.
6. Investigate accidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and prevention measures.
7. Manage activities related to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, including incident investigations and return-to-work programs.
8. Conduct risk assessments and hazard identifications, implementing proactive solutions.
9. Develop and monitor safety performance indicators.

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree or certification in occupational health and safety.
• 3-5 years’ experience in retail, distribution, or supply chain safety roles.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and hazard management.
• Experience in incident investigation and safety program development.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Bilingual in English/French is an asset.
• Willingness to travel domestically (<10%).
