Job summary

Hydro Ottawa seeks a Manager, Distribution Engineering & Asset Information to lead a multidisciplinary team, safeguard data governance, and partner with long‑term planning to translate field dynamics into robust baseline models.

You will drive DER integration, load and capacity assessments, and ensure GIS data integrity while aligning with regulatory filings and the company’s strategic investment agenda.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer licensed in the Province of Ontario.
• Minimum of five years in a leadership role.
• Experience in electric utility engineering is an asset.
• Knowledge of ISO 55000 Asset Management is an asset.
• Strong computer skills; proficient in Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team to drive performance.
• Ensure GIS data integrity and documentation standards.
• Oversee connection impact assessments and load evaluations for DER integration.
• Guide staff through system performance analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Manage short-circuit calculations, protection coordination, and load flow models.
• Support long-term Distribution System Plan and regulatory filings.
• Prioritize capital projects using the Value Framework.
• Develop and defend the department budget.
• Mentor Engineer Interns and support licensure.
• Engage with external developers and contractors to align timelines.
