We’re looking for our next Manager, Financial Reporting. Could it Be You?

The Manager, Financial Reporting oversees the production of financial reports of Questrade Financial Group (‘QFG’) and its subsidiaries.

What’s it like working as a Manager, Financial Reporting at Questrade?

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation of QFG financial statements and ensuring the company’s accounting policies and procedures conform to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Preparation of annual notes disclosure for the annual financial statements
• Reviewing monthly consolidation adjustments and entries for QFG
• Monitoring and reporting on financial covenants
• Working closely with Divisional Controllers to ensure compliance with IFRS
• Being a subject matter expert on IFRS and providing guidance on all technical accounting matters and preparation of documentation on technical accounting rules
• Quarterly review of IFRIC interpretation bulletins and any upcoming IFRS changes
• Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for financial reporting and consolidation
• Reviewing and processing purchase price allocation
• Preparing annual goodwill impairment for QFG subsidiaries, including DCF on the fair value of the CGUs
• Enhancing and managing customized financial reports in the company’s accounting systems
• Assisting during annual financial audits or other regulatory audit as required
• Working with the FP&A team to provide analysis on major changes to the financial results where applicable
• Supporting new systems and projects that relate to financial reporting

• Hold a Post-secondary degree / diploma in Accounting or other related field
• Hold a CPA or equivalent accounting designation
• Have 5+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years at a leadership level
• Have exceptional knowledge in IFRS
• Have extensive experience in financial reporting and consolidation
• Have advanced Excel skills
• Have experience training, onboarding and managing performance of team members
• Have excellent communication skills and experience interacting with all levels of leadership, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrate excellent analytical skill
• Are able to multitask and work well under pressure, maintain strong attention to detail and prioritize work within tight deadlines
• Have experiences in the financial / investment industry
• Have completed the CFO qualifying exam

Additional information :

• Please note this role will be required to be in office 3 days a week
