Job summary

• Support month-end close, ad-hoc analyses, and audits.
• Lead a small team and participate in cross-functional projects.

Job description

A well-established Canadian energy company with 50+ employees and a growing national footprint, supporting hundreds of independent operators through fuel supply, distribution, and business services. With operations spanning multiple provinces, the organization has built a strong position in Canada’s fuel distribution market while continuing to expand its dealer network.

This newly created position will drive finance transformation initiatives across high-volume transaction processes, with a focus on optimizing workflows, systems, and controls. The role will lead process improvements, support ERP enhancements, and oversee a small team while helping modernize finance operations to meet evolving business needs and enable scalable growth

Process Ownership

• Oversee back-end processes, including automated workflows supporting high-volume transactions
• Manage relationships with key process vendors and developers
• Provide training and ongoing support to ERP system users
• Identify and support process improvements and solutions to existing challenges
• Support new business initiatives by developing practical process solutions
• Assist with ERP system maintenance, configuration, and enhancements
• Coordinate and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Maintain and track system and process documentation

Finance & Accounting

• Oversee high-volume transactions and support month-end and year-end close activities
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis as required by management
• Assist with external and internal audit requests

Leadership & Other

• Lead and support a small team
• Participate in cross-functional and ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience, with a background in controllership, FP&A, or finance transformation
• 1+ year of formal people management experience
• Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation initiatives and ERP configuration or enhancements
• Strong process improvement, systems, and analytical skills
