Job Description

The Manager, Corporate Asset Management, reports to the Director of Financial Services and leads the development of the Town’s Corporate Asset Management System. This role involves directing the creation of multi-year capital plans, conducting condition assessments for all assets, and developing strategic frameworks including the SAMP and AMP’s. The manager presents recommendations to Council, reports on progress, and addresses challenges in implementation. They also lead policy development, strategic objectives, performance indicators, risk assessments, and lifecycle strategies aligned with the Town’s goals.

Job Requirements

Credentials

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, with significant operational experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • AM certification from IAM or IPWEA, or a Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning.
  • Class G Driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Police Information Check satisfactory to the Town.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Senior supervisory experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Advanced understanding of Asset Management systems (IIMM recommended).
  • Municipal administration and financial forecasting experience.
  • Project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and interpretative skills for complex asset management issues.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Broad knowledge of municipal infrastructure, planning, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of asset lifecycle policies, valuation methodologies, ISO5500 principles, and IIMM standards.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, influence, work independently, and manage projects and staff.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including AODA, MFIPPA, OSHA, and Employment Standards Act.
