We’re currently hiring for a remote role and are looking for candidates based in Ontario, Canada. Please note that we're only considering applicants who reside within Canada.

As a Senior People Business Partner at Fullsteam, you will serve as a strategic consultant to our business leaders, playing a pivotal role in aligning people strategies with business objectives, fostering a positive and productive work culture, and driving organizational success through effective talent management and employee engagement.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide first-line HR support to employees and managers, ensuring timely and accurate responses to HR inquiries.
  • Guide managers and employees on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead employee relations initiatives, assist with investigations, resolve concerns, develop documentation, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Identify workplace trends proactively and recommend HR interventions to address engagement, performance, and retention challenges.
  • Support talent management programs, including performance management and leadership development.
  • Assist with organizational design, change management, and workforce optimization to ensure the organization has the right talent in the right roles.
  • Maintain communication with business leaders to understand team dynamics and provide support.
  • Ensure accurate employee records, support HR compliance, and align with company policies and labor laws.
  • Contribute to change management initiatives and communicate effectively within the organization.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to offer insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to implement company-wide initiatives such as learning programs and change management processes.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture reflecting organizational values.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and stay updated on legal changes, with a focus on U.S. and Canadian labor laws.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws (including Canadian regulations), and industry trends.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to assess and mitigate risks related to employee relations, ensuring legal compliance and minimizing organizational exposure.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and results-driven mindset.
  • Ownership mentality, driving solutions proactively.
  • Forward-thinking approach to anticipate business needs and HR interventions.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, high-energy environment with shifting priorities.

  • Experience with HCM systems, preferably Workday.
  • Extensive experience supporting Canadian HR processes, including employee relations and compliance with provincial and federal regulations.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • At least 3 years of progressive HR experience, focusing on business partnership and employee relations.
  • HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CHRP, CHRL) is a plus.
