Position Highlights
ICBC’s People, Culture and Sustainability division is seeking an experienced Manager Compensation to join our Total Rewards team. The Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, operational expertise and technical guidance to a team of compensation professionals. The Manager Compensation leads a team of 5 skilled professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Operationalizes the compensation strategy and supports the development and implementation of compensation programs that provide a competitive level of pay, motivation, and reward within the organization.
Manages the delivery of ongoing operational activities including acting pay, salary recommendation, job evaluation, and annual salary review.
Leads or conducts research on compensation trends and practices to identify opportunities for compensation programs.
Leads annual ministry reporting and oversees all compliance reporting, including compensation analysis, annual report development, and salary surveys. Provides data to support board reporting.
Oversees compensation projects in collaboration with the Manager Compensation and Organizational Design. Recommends changes that will enhance compensation programs in alignment with business strategy.
Plans, selects, coaches and ensures team members are meeting the department goals and mentors team members on their individual development goals.
Position Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
A professional designation such as CCP, GRP, or similar in an asset.
Demonstrated relevant experience in compensation, conducting job evaluations and implementing compensation programs, including unionized roles.
3 to 6 years of experience leading professional teams, in interaction with various partners including, HR and senior leadership.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication both verbally and in writing; ability to explain technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms.
Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
Solid knowledge of employment laws, regulations and statues.
Experience in large and complex organizations, preferably within the public sector.
Knowledge of project management, business planning, process improvements, cost/benefit analysis.
Experience with SAP Success Factors is considered an asset.
