Jobtailor in Toronto seeks a strategic Communications & Creative leader to own end-to-end engagement strategies for signature events, advisory recognition programs, and business initiatives. You will guide themes, messaging, scripts, and multimedia experiences while collaborating with senior leaders.

This role requires 5+ years leading complex marcom strategy, strong budget and vendor management, and a university degree in journalism, advertising, marketing or communications.

  • Proven budget management, vendor oversight, and financial stewardship.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated communications, creative, and engagement strategies for recognition programs, conferences, events, and business initiatives.
  • Own end-to-end engagement strategy for signature events.
  • Lead event themes, messaging frameworks, storytelling, executive communications, scripts, recognition programming, and multimedia experiences.
  • Measure communications, engagement, and event effectiveness using insights and data.
  • Draft business content for signature events with the Consulting team.
  • Provide creative leadership for event communications, digital experiences, presentations, video productions, branding, and print collateral.
  • Review and approve communications, creative concepts, copy, and design for business, brand, accessibility, and audience alignment.
  • Advise on communications, creative development, attendee engagement, and event experience design.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Communications & Creative team.
  • Establish priorities and allocate resources across concurrent projects.
  • Partner with Event, Recognition, Distribution, Consulting, and senior leadership teams.
  • Lead planning and execution of high-profile advisor recognition and business events.
  • Identify and implement event technology, digital engagement tools, attendee experience platforms, and emerging communication channels.
  • Develop process documentation and operating procedures.
  • Manage vendors, agencies, contracts, negotiations, and performance.
  • Oversee communications and creative budgets, forecasting, costs, approvals, and savings opportunities.
  • Ensure legal, risk, privacy, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage departmental budgets, expenditures, contracts, and resources.

Job description

Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to build and influence relationships across business units, vendors, and senior leadership
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Proven budget management experience, including forecasting, vendor management, contract oversight, and financial stewardship
  • Strong leadership, coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Experience developing integrated communications and engagement strategies for events, recognition programs, and business initiatives
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead through change, navigate ambiguity, drive innovation, process improvement, and operational effectiveness
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance and achieving business objectives
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, processes, documentation, and tools
  • Experience developing high-performing teams and partnerships
  • A university degree in journalism, advertising, marketing or communications
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
  • 5 or more years’ experience leading complex marcom strategy creation and execution
  • Prior experience with copywriting, design, or production in an agency environment is an asset
  • Prior project management experience, with a focus on creative direction
