Job summary

International Business University in Toronto is seeking a Manager, Business Development to build and activate strategic partnerships across the GTA, driving student recruitment and institutional growth. You will identify opportunities, cultivate relationships, and represent IBU at events and meetings.

This field-based, hybrid role requires travel, a degree in business or related field, and 5+ years in business development or partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Education, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in business development, sales, partnerships, or other external-facing roles.
  • Proven success in prospecting, pipeline development, partner activation, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Results-oriented with strong relationship-building leading to recruitment outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; confident public speaking and presentations.
  • Experience leveraging Salesforce to support business development and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities generating prospective student leads and enrolment growth.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, community orgs, Indigenous communities, associations, and industry partners.
  • Represent IBU at networking events, career fairs, school visits, and community engagements.
  • Deliver compelling presentations about IBU's programs and opportunities.
  • Manage partnership pipelines and track outreach, development, and performance metrics using CRM and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with Recruitment, Marketing, Admissions and Academic teams to support recruitment strategies and growth objectives.

Join one of Canada's fastest-growing universities as our Manager, Business Development, where you will develop and activate strategic partnerships across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) while helping drive IBU's continued growth and impact.

About the Role

As the Manager, Business Development, you will build and maintain strategic partnerships across the GTA that strengthen IBU's external presence, generate prospective student opportunities, and support student recruitment and institutional growth objectives.

Success in this role requires a proactive, results-oriented approach to business development, with the perseverance, curiosity and persuasive communication skills to identify opportunities, build productive relationships, and cultivate sustainable recruitment channels.

Compensation Range: $70,000 base salary annually, plus commission eligibility

What You'll Do

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel throughout the GTA.

A valid Ontario G Driver's License, access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively throughout the GTA is required. This role may require occasional evening and weekend commitments.

What You Bring / Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Education, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or other results-oriented external-facing roles.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, pipeline development, partner activation, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Results-oriented professional with the ability to turn relationship-building activities into tangible recruitment and enrolment outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, complemented by confident public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Experience leveraging CRM platforms such as Salesforce to support business development, relationship management, and reporting activities.
