Baycrest in Toronto seeks a Manager and Interprofessional Practice Chief to lead ambulatory clinical services across Neuropsychology, Memory Clinic, and Movement Disorders, while guiding interprofessional teams including psychology and related disciplines.

Job Summary

The Manager and Interprofessional Practice Chief will help deliver strategically important initiatives that transform our ambulatory care models. This position provides operational leadership to the Neuropsychology and Cognitive Health, Memory Clinic, and Movement Disorders Clinics; and interprofessional practice leadership to the professions of Psychology, Behaviour Analysis, Speech Language Pathology, Audiology, and to interprofessional ambulatory teams in general. In collaboration with the co-Directors, other Baycrest departments and system partners your leadership will deliver breakthrough improvements in care. The care model improvements and innovations you design, implement and evaluate will secure better health outcomes for people with cognitive impairment and lower total cost of care for our health system. By activating business models to scale these care models Baycrest Hospital will achieve our strategic objectives to extend care beyond our campus and advance world class dementia care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provides operational leadership to the Neuropsychology and Cognitive Health, Memory Clinic, and Movement Disorders Clinics.
• Provides professional practice-specific leadership and resource expertise for the professions of Psychology and Behaviour Analysis, Speech Language Pathology. Provides interprofessional ambulatory teams in general with the support of the Advanced Practice Lead for Ambulatory Clinical Services reporting to this Manager and Interprofessional Practice Chief.
• Provides supervision for Psychologists in Supervised Practice and Regulated Behaviour Analysts in Supervised Practice and maintains the high standing of the Baycrest Predoctoral Internship in Clinical Neuropsychology.
• Sustain and grow the neuropsychology consultation service to other Ontario hospitals.
• Ensures standards of practice and competencies are in compliance with the respective professional regulatory college and interprofessional standards.
• Creates, fosters, and supports continuing education opportunities and interprofessional collaboration for staff.
• Develops, enhances, and supports discipline-specific student education programs, and collaborates with Baycrest Academy for Research and Education to facilitate student placements.
• Engages in and supports academic, research, and innovation initiatives.
• Develops and implements policies, procedures, and quality improvement plans to enhance excellence in the delivery of clinical service and effective professional practice; reviews, analyzes, and evaluates quality, risk, safety, and other performance outcome indicators; works in collaboration with the Advanced Practice Lead for Ambulatory, Interprofessional Practice Chiefs, and Quality partners at Baycrest and colleagues at universities, professional colleges and hospitals across the province.
• Coaches, mentors, supports, and facilitates the creation and maintenance of an environment that fosters creativity and professional judgment, promotes staff initiative and interprofessional collaboration, and nurtures high morale
• Embeds a client- and family-centred approach in program practices and infrastructure
• Ensures balanced budgets and grows revenue as services grow.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• Doctoral Degree in Psychology
• Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behavior Analysts of Ontario
• Certification or degree in health or business administration preferred
• Academic appointment at an Ontario university
• Geriatric Specialization preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant management or leadership experience in the healthcare sector
• Experience integrating care, such as leadership contributions to an Ontario Health Team, is an asset
• Demonstrated specialized expertise in facilitating quality and process improvement using a variety of techniques: LEAN, agile, PDSA
• Experience in a unionized setting required
• Proven leadership capabilities with strong evidence of the capacity to build high performing inter-professional and inter-organizational teams and support teams through coaching and mentorship
• Proven success in managing transformational change in complex environments.
• Advanced research and evaluative capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to apply robust data methodologies to healthcare system design, clinical outcomes, and funding models
• Sound knowledge of health sector and new legislation.
• Demonstrated competency in financial analysis, budget development and business case development for bundled and capitated remuneration models
• Demonstrated competency in population health management and fostering health equity
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365
• Excellent communication, team building, organization and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability and confidence to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation

Our salary ranges are structured to support progression, from learning the role to demonstrating full proficiency.

The salary range for this position is $137,009 to $171,261 per year.

Your placement within the target hiring range will depend on your job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant education and experience, as well as considerations such as market conditions and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined using these factors to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
