Qualifications

The home office for this role will be based out of our Leamington and/or Essex, Ontario office.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  1. Prepare and/or review compilation, review and audit engagements, including corporate and personal tax returns, HST returns, and bookkeeping;
  2. Manage engagements, including keeping Partners abreast of progress;
  3. Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments;
  4. Identify and resolve complex and routine accounting, audit, and tax issues;
  5. Develop junior staff members by providing technical guidance and mentoring;
  6. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client personnel, co-workers, and all levels of staff and management.
A successful candidate will have:
  1. Canadian CPA designation;
  2. 2-3 years post-qualification public accounting experience;
  3. Sound knowledge of the CICA Handbook, review procedures, and tax compliance;
  4. Ability to provide proactive solutions to clients, partners, and staff on complex assurance issues;
  5. Experience in managing and developing staff on engagements;
  6. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
  7. Proven project management and time management skills;
  8. Working knowledge of Caseware, Jazzit, and Taxprep is an asset;
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing client deadlines.
