The Lac La Ronge Indian Band Woodland Wellness Centre in La Ronge, SK is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Maintenance Worker. You will perform daily checks on boiler, heating and HVAC systems, conduct routine maintenance, and ensure safety of the facility, staff and public.

This role requires light maintenance, groundskeeping, and the ability to respond to emergencies on an on-call basis, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily checks of boiler, heating and HVAC systems.

  • Maintain grounds and outdoor areas; snow removal as needed.
  • Submit orders for supplies and provide upkeep of the Woodland Wellness Centre.
  • Be available evenings and weekends on an on-call basis.

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is inviting applications for the following Permanent Full-Time position based out of the Operations and Maintenance Department in La Ronge, SK: Maintenance Worker



  • Perform daily checks of boiler system, heating system, HVAC system, etc.

  • Perform daily maintenance duties including the inspecting and repairing of the facility, property and equipment;

  • Ensure public safety of facility, property and equipment;

  • Perform groundskeeper duties such as cleaning of grounds, sidewalks, paved areas, drainage systems, storage and work areas, cutting, raking of grass, the removal of debris and shoveling snow;

  • Safely operate hand and power tools and equipment required to perform assigned work;

  • Submit and order supplies and materials;

  • Provide general maintenance and upkeep for the Woodland Wellness Centre;

  • Will need to be available on evenings and weekends outside of ordinary working hours, (on-call basis for emergency building issues);

  • Other work-related duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.



  • Current working knowledge of trades or previous training in the maintenance or construction field would be definite assets;

  • Fireman's Certificate or Boiler Certificate is necessary;

  • A combination of education and experience will be considered;

  • Good communication skills to deal tactfully with staff, participants and the public;

  • Good organizational skills to plan and expedite work as it pertains to assigned projects;

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide attention to detail are required;

  • Must be willing to take direction from a supervisor;

  • Physical capabilities to perform the job;

  • Current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certification are assets;

  • Must possess a Class 5 license and own a vehicle;

  • Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Driver’s Abstract.
