Position Overview

This position reports directly to the Capital Projects/Facility Manager and is responsible for routine maintenance and repairs of Churchill RHA property and equipment. It includes recommending repairs or maintenance plans, logging repairs, notes, and reports, and assisting in preventative maintenance programs.

Experience
  • Previous experience working as part of a maintenance team is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Minimum Grade twelve education or equivalency.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on building, equipment, and grounds.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and environment.
  • Knowledge of Fire and Building Codes.
  • Pro-active problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Availability for twenty-four hour on-call.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of confidentiality.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. The candidate will be responsible for service charges. Checks are current if obtained within six months prior to employment start.

Employees cannot hold multiple positions across the WRHA legal entity exceeding 1.0 EFT. The WRHA includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA programs, and community health services.
