Status: Full-time

Salary: $27.27 per hour

The Mount Stephen is a Montreal boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown, in the Golden Square Mile district. This luxurious hotel accommodates up to 400 people; in 85 rooms and 5 prestigious suites. Whether you join the team to work for room service, concierge service, or others, the Mount Stephen hotel team will be happy to welcome you.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the property facilities. This essential role ensures that all equipment, systems, and infrastructure in the establishment are functioning optimally to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repairing various equipment, replacing electronic devices, painting, plastering, plumbing, electrical work, furniture moving, and other required tasks.
• Maintaining all household appliances and electronics, such as refrigerators, stoves, televisions, and air conditioners.
• Ensuring the property is clean and well-maintained, including tasks like mowing the lawn, trimming trees, and gardening.
• Taking out the trash and recycling.
• Performing regular preventative maintenance checks in all areas (guest rooms and public spaces) and on all equipment.
• Responding to service calls.
• Conducting preventative rounds.
• Any other related tasks as required.
• Available to work weekends.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Professional diploma (DEP) in building mechanics, electromechanics, or a related field.
• Previous experience in general maintenance, preferably in the hotel industry.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electricity, air conditioning, heating, and security systems.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose technical malfunctions.
• Good understanding of safety standards and safe use of tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently while demonstrating good teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail, precision, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
  
  
  

Languages: Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is required for this position, as we serve international clients.
