DECIEM is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our Eastside Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke. You will perform daily maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs to reduce stoppages in filling and compounding lines.

This on-site role requires attention to detail, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to lift 25 kg. Salary range is $27.00 to $29.00 per hour, with factors like experience and education affecting the final offer.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task with effective time management and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and skills (e.g., welding, hoisting/rigging, hydraulic and pneumatic systems)
• Physically demanding position; must be able to lift 25 kg.
• Relevant education OR equivalent work experience in the manufacturing industry an asset

Responsibilities

• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Assist in installation, alignment, dismantling, and moving stationary machinery and equipment using hand and power tools.
• Report machinery issues and maintain detailed maintenance reports.
• Troubleshoot and maintain labeling, production chillers, and small pumps.
• Perform routine maintenance including adjustment, cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of defective parts.
• Work under supervision of qualified trainers and senior team members.
• Assemble machinery prior to installation using hand and power tools.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and document results; inspect equipment daily to identify early breakdown signs.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician to be responsible for daily maintenance and fixes to reduce stoppages in Filling and Compounding, as well as preventive maintenance.

This is an on-site role based out of our Eastside Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated base salary for this position is $27.00 to $29.00.

Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

• Responsible for inspecting and examining all machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
• Assist in installation, alignment, dismantling, and moving stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, according to layout plans using hand and power tools
• Report machinery issues. Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports
• Troubleshoot and maintain labeling, printing, production chillers, and small pumps
• Perform routine maintenance such as adjustment, cleaning, lubricating, and repair or replacing defective parts of equipment
• Be able to work under the direction of qualified trainers and senior team members
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and provide documentation as required. Proactively inspect equipment daily to identify early stages of breakdown to implement corrective action
• Notify the Senior Maintenance Manager/Head of Maintenance of any maintenance issues, seek guidance and support, but must be able to perform duties under minimal supervision
• Comply with all safety and health regulations (PPE, lockout procedures, etc.) and follow GMP
