Job summary

West Coast Seniors Housing Management in Comox Valley is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support daily operations at the Comox Valley Seniors Village. You will report to the General Manager or Maintenance Manager and help ensure safe, reliable, and welcoming surroundings for residents and staff.

The role covers preventive maintenance, repairs across electrical, plumbing, painting, and building systems, with on-site responsibilities including emergency call-ins, safety drills, and collaboration

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of building or community maintenance experience.
Knowledge of painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating systems and gardening.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Must pass vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

Inspect equipment, log issues daily, diagnose malfunctions and suggest replacements.
Inspect alarm, call, and security systems and log information daily.
Schedule and supervise service work in absence of the Maintenance Manager.
Perform general repairs to electrical, plumbing and building components.
Be available for emergency call-ins.
Maintain painting/touch-up schedule.
Support safety drills and infection control procedures.
Maintain organization of work and storage areas.
