A leading company in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for general equipment and property maintenance. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and relevant electrical training. The position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
Reports To: Maintenance Team Manager
Summary: This position is responsible for performing general equipment, building and property maintenance. They are responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment in accordance with safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position shall also be responsible for
keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition as required. Additional duties may include, performing routine maintenance activities, and notifying management of need for repairs.

Job Duties
• Comply with Occupational H&S standards and practices.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery.
• Perform Regular property inspections of units, common areas, building exteriors, and yard.
• Keep accurate records of space conditions including roof, HVAC and utilities.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of factory equipment, structures and grounds
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Ensure 24/7 availability of emergency services.
• Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, etc.
• Maintain fire alarms and extinguishers
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those
• Maintain inventory of equipment, manuals and warranties.
• Drive vehicles, as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
· High school diploma/GED.
· Electrical training/education (Red Seal), or Level 2 Electrical Apprentice or Millwright
education/training an asset
· Willing to work overtime, and Saturdays as necessary
· Valid Driver's Licence.
· 1 year experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings is an asset.
· Ability to perform small repairs
· Able to create alternative solutions to problems.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Technical skills required to perform tasks
Work Conditions
• Job requires ability to work indoors and outdoors, all seasons
• Job requires ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs for 50 feet is required.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.).
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and humidity and exposure to dust.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
• Noise level is generally loud.
• Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
• Excellent stamina is required.
