Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at 9300 Transcanadienne in Saint-Laurent. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and appearance of the property by performing routine inspections, addressing maintenance tasks, and supporting building operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and complete minor repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of building systems.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to tenant service requests.
  • Maintain building interiors and exteriors to a high standard of safety and appearance.
  • Support energy efficiency initiatives by monitoring and adjusting building system operations.
  • Operate and maintain water treatment systems, including testing and adjusting chemical levels.
  • Keep maintenance logs, water treatment records, and inspection reports accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain inventories of essential parts and supplies (filters, belts, lubricants, chemicals, etc.).
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and service providers to ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Assist with snow removal, minor asset repairs, and other general maintenance duties.
  • Participate in Health and Safety inspections and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
  • Stay informed of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies related to building maintenance.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is preferred.
  • Some experience in building maintenance, repairs, and system operations.
  • Actively working toward BES Level 1 & 2 certification and/or holding at least a 5th Class Power Engineering ticket.
  • Developing proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and building automation systems (BAS).
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and verbal) is required.
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining building standards.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Availability to respond to urgent issues outside of normal business hours.
