Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems in a Canada-based facility. You will handle power transmission components, pumps, gearboxes, fans, and piping while adhering to safety procedures and codes.

Expect welding, brazing, and soldering tasks and collaboration with contractors. The role requires reading schematics and service manuals, performing emergency responses, and working rotating shifts outdoors in

Qualifications

Industrial environment experience is a strong asset.
Knowledge of pumps, filters, gearboxes and valves.
Ability to log maintenance activities and access procedures.
G License is required.
Ability to work outdoors across varying weather conditions.
Valid work authorization in Canada (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues including power transmission systems, gearboxes, pumps, and fans.
Perform welding, brazing, and soldering.
Service compressed air and water piping systems.
Safely move heavy machine components using cranes, jacks, and hoists.
Install new equipment and piping systems.
Read and follow maintenance procedures for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
Respond to maintenance emergencies as required.
Collaborate with outside contractors and inspectors.
Communicate with other departments.
Overtime as necessary.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues, including adjusting, aligning, and repairing power transmission systems, gearboxes, pumps, and fans
Perform welding, brazing, and soldering
Service compressed air and water piping systems
Safely move large, heavy machine components using cranes, jacks, and hoists
Install new equipment and piping systems
Read and follow maintenance procedures for electrical and instrumentation equipment
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals
Ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable codes
Perform regular housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work area
Collaborate with outside contractors and inspectors
Maintain working relationships with coworkers, contractors, and customers
Communicate and liaise with other departments
Respond to and manage maintenance emergencies as required
Perform other maintenance assignments and duties; work some overtime as necessary

Requirements

Proven experience in an industrial environment is a strong asset
Technical knowledge of pumps, filters, gearboxes and valves
Functional computer skills for logging maintenance activities, tracking work orders, and accessing procedures
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Exemplary oral and written communication skills
G license required
Ability to work effectively outdoors across various weather conditions
Availability and willingness to work rotating morning and afternoon shifts
Valid work authorization in Canada; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
