Job description

Agilus is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry in Markham, Ontario.

As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for the repair and maintenance of various plant equipment.

A typical day:

1. Validate new and existing equipment.
2. Utilize manuals, schematics, and blueprints to determine how to repair failures.
3. Work alongside operators in a cross-functional team setting to minimize machine downtime and improve line output.
4. Build, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot hydraulic-mechanical assemblies using procedures, prints, written instructions, or verbal communication.
5. Assemble and repair parts and assemblies per process documentation and verbal direction provided.
6. Maintain tooling room and ensure the availability of spare parts for corrective and preventive maintenance.
7. Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools.

Successful candidates will have:

• Graduate of a Mechanical Technician or Mechanical Technologist post-secondary program.
• Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment (chemicals, aerosol, solvents, adhesives).
• Experience working with electrical equipment and pneumatics.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and documents.
• Able to commute daily to Markham.
