Qualifications

• Two or more years of residential or commercial building maintenance experience required.
• A valid driver’s licence required; travel between properties with company vehicle provided.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating and general repairs.
• A trade ticket or building operator certificate is an asset.
• Safe work habits and current WHMIS/first aid training.
• Courteous, clear communication with residents and managers.
• A clear criminal record check is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance work orders including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, doors, locks and appliances.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and seasonal checks on building systems.
• Prepare vacant suites for next resident including repairs and painting.
• Inspect buildings and grounds and report deficiencies and safety concerns.
• Meet and oversee contractors on site and verify their work.
• Record time, materials and completed work in the work order system.

Rimrock Property Management is hiring a Maintenance Technician based in Edmonton. The technician keeps a group of residential and commercial properties safe, working and well presented, and is the person residents and tenants see when something needs fixing.

What you will do

• Complete maintenance work orders: basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, doors, locks and appliances.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and seasonal checks on building systems.
• Prepare vacant suites for the next resident, including repairs, painting and final checks.
• Inspect buildings and grounds, and report deficiencies and safety concerns.
• Meet and oversee contractors on site, and confirm their work is complete.
• Record time, materials and completed work in the work order system.

What you bring

• Two or more years of residential or commercial building maintenance experience (required).
• A valid driver’s licence (required). Travel between properties is part of the job, and Rimrock supplies the vehicle and tools.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating and general repairs.
• A trade ticket or building operator certificate is an asset.

Compensation, hours and benefits

• Reports to a community manager or property manager.
• $50,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Includes a place in the after-hours on-call rotation.
• Company vehicle and tools supplied.
• Benefits package.
• Three weeks of vacation.
