Position: Maintenance Support Worker (Full-time)
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Reports to: Senior Building Technician

Position Summary
Responsible for maintaining the safe and effective operation of the building infrastructure and its components in a proactive and sustainable manner
Responsibilities
- Maintains building systems and infrastructure in safe and effective operational order
- Ensures the safety of all tenants, residents, clients, staff, visitors and other building occupants through the regular maintenance and inspection of building systems and structures.
- Conducts repairs and/or installation of electrical fixtures, according to assigned Work Orders, receptacles, GFCI protected outlets, light fixtures, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, and residential appliances
- Maintains and enhances the physical appearance of the buildings and property
- Inspects the building and grounds regularly to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep.
- Conducts any possible repairs and maintenance during inspections and records incomplete maintenance requirements through the Work Order system.
- Works safely and ensures the safety of others
- Performs work safely and complies with all departmental and organizational procedures and policies and ensures the safety of self and others.
- Promotes safety by providing high quality maintenance services and responds to concerns, complaints and issues identified and reported.
Education
- Community college and / or related courses in building/mechanical /property management or Courses related to electrical, plumbing, heating and mechanics.
- Professional Trade License is an asset
Experience & Skills
- Minimum Two years’ experience in building maintenance or janitorial work
- Technical and mechanical skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and the knowledge and sensitivity to work in a culturally diverse environment and a senior population
