Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting seeks a skilled Tooling Designer to lead tooling improvements and PFMEA initiatives. You will collaborate with toolmakers, project teams, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.

Ideal candidates bring CAD proficiency (VISI), GD&T knowledge, and 5+ years as a certified Tool & Die Maker, with strong design experience and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • Certified Tool and Die Maker with 5+ years of experience.
  • 7 years minimum of design experience.
  • Familiar with VISI CAD software.
  • Strong GD&T and CMM layout knowledge.
  • Experience with PFMEA, DFM/VA/VE, DOE, DVP&R, PPAP.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee tooling improvement modifications with the team.
  • Coordinate with toolmakers and team leaders to complete critical tooling through the TRN process.
  • Monitor and analyze key tasks, activities and costs across tool modification phases.
  • Outline timing, monitor, and report monthly on activities (internal and external).
  • Create tooling PFMEAs on all new projects and manage open issues.
  • Ensure spare components are acquired for all new tooling projects and maintain records.
