Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Residential team in Iqaluit, NU. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will lead a team of Maintenance Technicians in a specified region or location. While following our Health and Safety requirements, our Maintenance Supervisors will have a working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and flooring, along with the proven ability to be a motivated person with exceptional leadership and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

1. Supervision of maintenance workers and laborers
2. In cooperation with the Regional Manager, determine priorities and work deadlines
3. Facilitating weekly toolbox meetings
4. Completing time sheets
5. Completing and assigning maintenance requests
6. Troubleshooting
7. Performing minor repairs on heating, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, walls, and flooring
8. Moving furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies
9. Removing trash and items from suites/grounds
10. Other duties related to the upkeep of buildings and suites as assigned

Qualifications

1. Proven organizational and time management skills
2. Leadership experience – leading by example
3. Computer skills, including spreadsheets, work orders, and timesheets; minimum of 5 years experience in building maintenance
4. Strong working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and drywall
5. Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
6. Boiler knowledge and experience are preferred
7. Valid driver's license and Criminal Record Check (free of relevant convictions)
8. Ability to work as part of an on-call team and on weekends as needed
