Job summary

The Forest Group, an award-winning company in the GTA, is seeking a Maintenance Shop Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles and perform preventative maintenance. The role requires experience with a range of light and heavy vehicles, automotive electronics, and diagnostic equipment.

Strong safety focus and ability to complete forms and reports are essential. Ontario licenses are preferred, including 310T and G-class, with Grade 12 education or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must hold Ontario Vehicle Operator’s Permit Class “G” in good standing.
• Province of Ontario Motor Vehicle License 310T strongly preferred.
• Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Experience in Fleet Maintenance with light and heavy vehicles and up-to-date automotive electronics.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment such as scanners, digital meters, tire balancers, brake lathes, and A/C filling/testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and annual safety inspections as required.
• Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently within the time allotted and in accordance with legislated standards.
• Install and repair specialized vehicle accessories and safety equipment.
• Order and receive replacement or repair parts, keeping stock area neat and tidy.

We are currently looking for a full time Maintenance Shop Technician to join our growing team!

Our ideal hire would have an in-depth understanding of construction machinery and vehicle maintenance.

As a Maintenance Shop Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and annual safety inspections as required
• Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently within the time allotted and in accordance with legislated standards
• Install and repair specialized vehicle accessories and safety equipment
• Order and receive replacement or repair parts as directed and keep stock area in neat and tidy condition
• Use hand tools to carry out maintenance and repair duties
• Accurately complete forms, reports and input/retrieve information into Fleet Management System
• May be required to perform emergency roadside repairs
• Attend training courses as required

Qualified Candidates Will Possess

• Province of Ontario Motor Vehicle License 310T is strongly preferred
• Must hold Ontario Vehicle Operator’s Permit Class “G” in good standing
• Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write and understand English
• Must be able to complete various work forms and prepare simple written reports
• Experience, preferably in Fleet Maintenance environment dealing with a variety of light and heavy vehicles and up to date on automotive electronics
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, ie: scanners, digital meters, tire balancers, brake lathes, and AC filling and testing equipment
