Job summary

The Forest Group is seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators, including Backhoe Operators, to join our growing team in the Greater Toronto Area. You will report to Site Supervisors and operate a backhoe to support asphalt paving, concrete work, and landscape construction projects.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of backhoe experience, a valid driver’s license, and a safety-focused mindset. We offer a competitive compensation package and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience operating a backhoe.
  • Experience in the construction industry with a willingness to learn.
  • Experience in concrete removal and/or road work is a requirement.
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A safety conscious demeanor and willingness to adhere to company safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as a part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Using a Backhoe to remove concrete curbs and sidewalks on roads and parking lots.
  • Bulk excavation and loading trucks for disposal
  • Fine and finished grading work
  • Following equipment maintenance schedule as required.
  • Performing a daily circle check on equipment and vehicles.
  • General labour duties such as preparing materials and clean up of site area.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisors

We are currently looking for a Backhoe Operator to join our growing team!

Reporting directly to the Site Supervisors, The Backhoe Operator will be responsible for performing a variety of construction tasks using a backhoe.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Using a Backhoe to remove concrete curbs and sidewalks on roads and parking lots.
  • Bulk excavation and loading trucks for disposal
  • Fine and finished grading work
  • Following equipment maintenance schedule as required.
  • Performing a daily circle check on equipment and vehicles.
