Job summary

Bethany Manor is seeking a full-time maintenance service worker to support a multi-building seniors housing complex in Saskatoon. You will perform routine upkeep and respond to repair requests to keep living spaces safe and functional.

Responsibilities include refurbishing resident suites, maintaining HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, operating power tools, and coordinating with the maintenance team. A focus on safety, reliability, and customer care is essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience maintaining efficient and reliable building operations and routine maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Skilled in minor home renovations, basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical knowledge.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and maintain a positive attitude.
• Possess Power Engineering Fireman's Certificate and a valid driver’s license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with resident suite refurbishments and completing upgrades (patching, painting, countertops, toilets, faucets, flooring prep).
• Inspect and maintain HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Maintain plumbing, electrical and general building systems.
• Perform general maintenance tasks and repairs in resident suites and common areas.
• Keep maintenance records and schedule preventive tasks.
• Handle landscaping, seasonal outdoor maintenance, snow/ice removal, and operate related equipment.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team and contribute to planning.

Job description

Bethany Manor, a non profit, Christian, seniors housing complex is seeking a full time maintenance service worker.

• Assist with resident suite transitions by refurbishing suites (patching, painting, installation of counter tops, toilets, faucets, flooring prep, etc.)
• Inspections and maintenance of the buildings HVAC systems
• Ensure efficient operation of all buildings systems (plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• General property and building envelope maintenance tasks
• Scheduled maintenance and minor repairs in commercial kitchen
• Keeping maintenance records
• Property landscaping, seasonal maintenance of sidewalks, snow & ice removal
• General repairs to resident suites as requested (i.e. leaking faucets, plugged toilet, heat adjustment, etc.)
• Small appliance repairs (vacuums, electric motors, pumps, etc.)
• Operate and maintain power and hand tools, lawn and snow maintenance equipment
• Participation in maintenance team planning

Successful candidates will:

• demonstrated skill in minor home renovations and basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical knowledge
• possess skills and 1 - 2 years of experience in maintaining efficient and reliable building operations and routine maintenance of mechanical systems

• have a superior work ethic, strong decision making and problem solving skills and a positive attitude
• be able to meet the demands of this moderately physical role
• possess the ability to recommend corrective action and implement required repairs

• possess or is willing to obtain a Power Engineering Fireman's Certificate and a valid drivers license
