S&R Nursing Homes Ltd. in Ontario is seeking a Maintenance Worker to keep the Home safe, comfortable, and compliant. You will perform building upkeep, handle plumbing, electrical, and safety tasks, and support residents and staff daily.

Qualifications

  • OSSD or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of building and fire codes in long term care.
  • Must be available for emergency call-ins.
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months.
  • TB 2 Step updated within the last year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the building, including plumbing, heating and cooling systems, electrical repairs, plastering, painting, and other assigned tasks.
  • Prioritize tasks according to the needs of the Home.
  • Move resident and non-resident furniture safely within the Home.
  • Maintain logs and records for work performed, including materials and equipment used.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in proper working order.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, utilizing computerized systems to track work and schedules.
  • Respond to emergency call-ins to ensure continuity of a safe environment.

If you were working for us as a Maintenance Worker, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Performed general maintenance and upkeep of the building, including plumbing, heating and cooling systems, electrical repairs, plastering, painting, and other assigned tasks
  • Prioritized tasks according to the needs of the Home
  • Moved resident and non-resident furniture safely within the Home
  • Maintained logs and records for work performed, including materials and equipment used
  • Ensured tools and equipment were in proper working order
  • Assisted with preventative maintenance, utilizing computerized systems to track work and schedules
  • Monitored the Home for maintenance and safety issues, taking action or reporting concerns as appropriate
  • Adhered to all policies, procedures, and legislative standards, ensuring a safe and compliant environment
  • Supported special projects such as carpet cleaning, painting, or backup maintenance tasks
  • Responded to emergency call-ins to ensure continuity of a safe environment
  • And supported your team as needed.
