Position Profile

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning scheduled maintenance activities within the AMO. This involves identifying maintenance requirements and translating them into work packages, including Job cards, bill of materials, and resource lists.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Create and maintain work packages based on customer-defined work scope.
  2. Develop and manage routine work orders and associated tally lists.
  3. Compile materials, consumables, rotables, and services needed for aircraft maintenance or modifications per customer requirements and data.
  4. Maintain ERP system frameworks (Job cards, Part IDs) to control tasks and streamline work package creation.
  5. Identify risks and develop mitigation plans prior to aircraft induction.
  6. Collaborate with subject matter experts to generate baseline sequencing of work packages into time-phase blocks, providing details to Supply Chain for planning.
  7. Create initial capacity plans covering personnel, hangar space, tools, fixtures, and outside services; integrate these into the MRO Master Schedule.
  8. Adjust project details as needed to align with the Master Schedule, formally release work packages, update precedence networks, and close work packages upon completion.
  9. Develop and share visual depictions of work sequences, milestones, and project status, ensuring high visibility in shops and digital dashboards.
  10. Gather feedback from technicians and leads to improve maintenance plans, capturing lessons learned for future enhancements.
  11. Coordinate with relevant departments to manage changes related to parts, tools, and engineering that could impact schedules.
Education and Experience Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Aviation or a related field.
  • At least two years' experience in aircraft maintenance or operations.
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance planning is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals, service bulletins, STCs, and ADs.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications within a Windows environment.
