Job summary

Agropur in Bedford, Nova Scotia is seeking a Maintenance Planner to organize and optimize plant maintenance and interventions. You will manage resources, analyze maintenance history, and communicate issues to stakeholders to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/DEP in relevant maintenance fields is required.
  • Minimum five years of maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of automation, networks, electricity and instrumentation.
  • Good communication in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work in a team and stay rigorous and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize maintenance work to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Plan resources for plant interventions and maintenance interventions.
  • Analyze maintenance history and determine root causes of deviations.
  • Communicate issues and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Maintain maintenance documentation and performance indicators.
  • Participate in failure analyses and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and oversee planning, scheduling, 5S and other processes.
  • Manage the operational excellence program in maintenance and budget changes.
  • Oversee purchasing for maintenance, issue POs, and supplier follow-up.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and start-up work permits as needed.
  • Support after-hours maintenance on-call when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and safety rules.

  • Experience in similar functions an asset;
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing an asset;
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment an asset;

  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and ability to work in a team;

Job Description
  • Plan and organize maintenance work in order to carry out tasks efficiently and in accordance with the quality and health and safety system;
  • Plan the resources necessary for the success of the plant's scheduled interventions;
  • Analyze and monitor the history of interventions carried out by the team on equipment and validate the causes of deviations according to good reliability practices;
  • Communicate issues and solutions to various stakeholders;
  • Complete performance indicators and maintenance documentation;
  • Participate, as required, in failure analyses and operational improvements;
  • Build and maintain the system of planning, scheduling, kitting, 5S and other processes;
  • Implement the Operational Excellence Program (AOS) in maintenance and ensure the implementation of the continuous improvement approach to maintenance;
  • Manage maintenance priorities according to operational needs and changes in the maintenance budget.
  • Responsible for the purchasing process to maintenance;
  • Supervise the issuance of POs, inventory management, orders, invoice and supplier follow-up;
  • Supervise the work of the Buyer-Storekeeper surrounding all purchases of components related to maintenance activities;
  • Ensure the supply of the parts necessary for preventive maintenance and the resulting corrective interventions.
  • Reception of subcontractors every day;
  • Coordination of the start of the work including the various work permits;
  • Replace the maintenance supervisor as needed and participate in after-hours maintenance on-call.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices;
  • Safety Protocol;
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures;
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards;
    • Support safety policies and programs.

Salary: $43.27 per hour, or $90,001 $ per year
