Job description

Job Type: Regular

At Agropur, every role exists to deliver concrete results. What matters is real impact, not the volume of activity. Agropur is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join its team in St-Laurent. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees both a team of maintenance leaders and a unionized workforce. The primary objective of the role is to contribute to continuous performance improvement and the daily reliability of the plant. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment and supporting compliance with quality and food safety requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the site's asset and infrastructure maintenance program. In addition to coordinating daily maintenance activities, they will collaborate on various continuous improvement and automation projects. The role is responsible for initiating, developing, and overseeing improvement initiatives aimed at maximizing operational efficiency. The incumbent also ensures that the effective management of daily activities positively impacts key performance indicators for both the maintenance department and the overall facility. An environment that allows you to focus on what truly matters:

  • Vacation entitlement based on recognition of years of service
  • Flexible group insurance plan including telemedicine
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Opportunities to invest in your development (career growth, etc.)
  • Pension plan with employer contributions
  • Salary Scale 006: $100,900 to $126,100 (Base salary will be determined according to your academic background, experience, training, and position‑related competencies.)

Your role in achieving results:

  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance operations to maximize the reliability, availability, and performance of production equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities while optimizing resource utilization and cost efficiency.
  • Prioritize short-term maintenance interventions (within 24 to 48 hours) to achieve targeted performance metrics and minimize operational downtime.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, including Maintenance Technical Agents, Storekeepers, and other personnel under their supervision.
  • Facilitate daily performance review meetings, provide coaching, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and standards by employees and contractors.
  • Ensure that facilities, equipment, and maintenance practices comply with regulatory requirements, applicable standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain and continuously improve maintenance programs, planning processes, and work management systems to optimize asset performance.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of capital investment and continuous improvement projects while ensuring their seamless integration into plant operations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for maintenance, equipment reliability, and process improvement initiatives, while assuming the Maintenance Manager’s responsibilities in their absence.

What we are looking for to deliver these results:

  • Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or another related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience supervising maintenance teams in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System); experience with Guide TI is considered an asset, along with strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Solid knowledge of instrumentation, troubleshooting, supervision, and automated equipment and process management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. (English is required to collaborate with colleagues across other Canadian provinces.)

People are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in working together, speaking honestly, taking ownership, and creating value in everything we deliver. Our culture is built on collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to growing stronger together. Joining the team means being part of an environment where people support each other and take pride in making a real impact.

Agropur welcomes people from all backgrounds and origins. We are proud to be an employer with a diverse community and are committed to providing a respectful and inclusive experience for all employees and applicants. We will work with candidates who request accommodation.
