Job summary

Edison Properties is seeking a reliable Painter to join our Maintenance team in Winnipeg. You will handle interior and exterior painting, drywall repair, taping, surface prep, and site cleanup.

The role requires self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, finishing via painting and drywall work, organizing projects, and maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years painting experience in residential, commercial, or maintenance environments.
• Experience with drywall repair, taping, mudding, finishing considered a strong asset.
• Trade certification or Journeyperson Painter designation is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by washing walls, patching drywall, sanding, and removing old paint.
• Mix, match, and apply paints, stains, primers, and finishes to various surfaces.
• Complete drywall repairs, mudding, taping, sanding, and finishing for a paint-ready surface.
• Plan and organize painting projects, ensuring materials and equipment are ready.
• Protect areas by covering furniture, floors, and fixtures; maintain clean work sites.
• Move furniture and other obstacles as needed and return items after completion.
• Remove and reinstall fixtures like switch plates and doorknobs as required.
• Maintain safe work environment and perform thorough cleanup.
• Update work orders and purchase requests using company system.
• Monitor inventory levels of paint and supplies; report replenishment needs.
• Follow health and safety policies and safe work practices.
