Job summary

Shepard-Martinez Construction is seeking a residential painter assistant to prep, protect, and paint living spaces. You’ll cover floors and furniture, repair surfaces, and cut in and roll walls in occupied homes across HRM, with daily site cleanups and a final walk‑through with clients.

Requirements include 1+ year of residential painting, being 18+, legally allowed to work in Canada, and the ability to lift 50 lb and use ladders. Own transport is needed to access multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• 1+ year residential painting experience.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• 18 or older.
• Able to lift 50 lb and work from a ladder at two storeys and above.
• Own transport to sites across HRM.

Responsibilities

• Cover floors and furniture before any work starts.
• Fill and sand holes and dents flat, prime the patches.
• Cut in and roll walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets.
• Clean up at the end of every day.
• Walk the finished room with the customer before we invoice.
