Job summary

Grand River Foods is seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright for the Night shift in Ontario. The role requires working 10:30pm–7:30am, Monday to Friday with some weekend overtime. You will install, repair, and maintain production equipment and participate in PM activities.

Applicants should have a valid Ontario Millwright License, 2–5 years in industrial/mechanical roles, and experience with TIG/ARC welding, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Overtime and benefits apply after probation.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Ontario Millwright license with proof of apprenticeship.
• 2–5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in food industry.
• Experience welding stainless steel using TIG and ARC.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and controls.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain all production equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting during downtime events.
• Maintain CMMS records for maintenance activities.
• Improve preventative maintenance through collaboration with the maintenance planner.

Job description

GRF is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright for the Night shift.

Night shift – 10:30pm – 7:30am Monday to Friday – some weekend overtime required.

GRF operates in a cold, fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Applicants must be comfortable working with meat products (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, soy, etc.)

• Install, repair, and maintain all production-related equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting and support during all downtime events.
• Complies with all necessary manufacturing practices, regulations and standards, i.e., GMP, HACCP, WHIMIS, MSDS etc.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities as needed to improve asset health.
• Maintain detailed records of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Collaborate with the maintenance planner to improve preventative maintenance activities.
• Identify and communicate, continuous improvement ideas to the management team.
• Actively promote health and safety in the workplace.
• Complete Maintenance reports and logs as required.
• Ensure all production equipment is serviced as required
• Monitor and adjust equipment to lower utility costs
• Enforce established safety, health, contamination and housekeeping policies and procedures to prevent injuries, lost production time, damage, and product contamination.
• Ensure work areas are always clean and hazard-free.
• Work safely and efficiently following legislated and company health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Valid Millwright licensewith proof of apprenticeship
• Able to perform routine machine shop practices (lathe & milling machine operations),
• Experience welding stainless steel using TIG and ARC
• Able to troubleshoot and repair, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and controls
• 2-5 years' industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry
• Service, clean and perform preventative maintenance and overhaul on all production equipment (spiral ovens, freezers, formers, cartoners, tray pack machines, bread, and batter equipment)
• Continually improve equipment function via design improvements
• Problem-solving skills and good communication skills
• Knowledge of appropriate health & safety and environmental regulations
• Adherence to Food Safety Protocols
• Must have Ontario Millwright License

$47.49/hr, plus night shift premium of $4.00/hr, for a total wag of $51.49/hr.
